What's In a Label?

As a conscientious consumer you're looking for Natural vitamins and supplements (right?) and keeping an eye out for organic foods (sometimes?). So why not check the labels of your skin/hair/beauty supplies with the same eye toward all-natural products that have all the health boosting power as their food and supplement cousins, with none of the toxic byproducts contributing to poor long-term health?

100 % Organic
This label affirms that the entire content of the product--every single ingredient--is grown organically.

Certified Organic
This label means that a minimum of 95 percent of all ingredients are grown organically. "Certified Organic" is regulated by the USDA.

Eco Cert
This is the European version of the "Certified Organic" label. At least 95 percent of all ingredients must be organically grown, but it's regulated by an independent European agency, rather than the USDA.

Vegan
Organic products are not necessarily Vegan, or vice-versa. Vegan simply means that the product does not contain any form of animal ingredients, and that it has not been tested on animals. It may, or may not, be organically grown.
